I lead communication efforts for the Alumni Association’s Career Compact program, aimed at offering invaluable resources to alumni as they navigate their professional journey, whether it's advancing their careers or staying up-to-date with industry trends. Through a range of features under the Career Compact brand, our objective is to create awareness around existing benefits while also introducing fresh features to augment the alumni benefits package.
When welcoming new graduates into the Alumni Association it’s important to make a good impression so they become and stay engaged with us throughout their lifetime. I’m responsible for making that first connection whether it’s hosting an alumni booth, sending a welcome email, or leading content efforts for their commencement ceremony.
As the head of communications for the independent non-profit DeVry Scholarship Fund, I lead all communication initiatives, including student campaigns awarding $100,000 in scholarships per season and driving colleague donations. I also manage website, award announcements, social media content, and back-end system administration, while serving as secretary and voting member on the Board of Directors for strategic decision-making and governance.
To ensure alumni are engaged and supported, I created touchpoints to reach out. This includes efforts like sending happy birthday emails or holiday cards as well as an e-newsletter with information about their benefits and what’s happening at the university.
I’m experienced in the art of simplifying complex information for easy understanding by end-users. With a diverse work history that includes creating intricate insurance proposals, comprehensive annual reports, detailed instruction manuals, and more, I've honed my expertise in distilling multifaceted concepts into clear, accessible content. My career is marked by successful collaborations with diverse teams to deliver high-impact technical writing projects.
